Took my Father-in-Law on a fishing excursion with Al Gauron for a Father's Day gift and we had a blast. They provide rods w/ lures, instruction, music, food and drink (nothing fancy but we didn't need that). If you have Bob as part of your tour - the guy is non-stop witty one-liners, lots of fun and helpful. He was great with my young nephew. Lots of great people on the boat with us. We went fishing for mackerel - caught a good amount, had them filleted by the crew - brought them home and grilled them up with some olive oil, lemon, garlic, salt and pepper. DELICIOUS. This crew was great. Appreciate them! My quick advice: pay attention to the weather and bring layers b/c it can be cool when moving then warm when stopped and fishing, etc. Also - there's a bait and tackle shop right when you get off the boat - went in and grabbed a foam cooler and bag of ice for $11 to put the fish in.
The best you can find. The staff are great in the shop and the crew are very helpful. Practically running to help people with lines and fish. Also, took my 2 lil girls on the Whale Watching trip and saw 3 whales. 1 being a baby whale. Great experience for my girls who are 4 and 8. Also pretty cool that the Captain was Jackson Nicoll. This was my first time whale watching and we had an amazing time. Entire crew was amazing and saw the most beautiful whale sightings and a large pod of dolphins. Can’t wait to go again. Thanks for an amazing adventure!
Easy to schedule, amazing, supportive, helpful crew during trips, skillful, no-nonsense captains, reasonable prices and great discounts during the holidays. We were always an Eastman’s family but Al Gauron’s has stolen our hearts!
We’ve done fishing trips all over New England but always seen to end up booking here year after year. I recommend the 6 person private charter , Rocky always seems to find the keepers! A+
